Shuttle boosters rising at Kennedy Space Center


The replica space shuttle solid rocket boosters and external fuel tank that will form a 184-foot-tall outdoor display at the entrance of the Atlantis exhibit building are taking shape at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.

Construction continues around Atlantis, which was wrapped in a protective plastic before being hoisted atop mounting pedestals and tilted 43.21 degrees to port.
