Discovery's sweeping turn for landing

Commander Brian Duffy pilots shuttle Discovery along the Heading Alignment Cylinder -- an imaginary circle -- to align with Runway 22. Approaching from the southwest, Discovery made a 204-degree right-overhead turn to line up with northeast-to-southwest concrete runway at Edwards Air Force Base in California.
