Launch weather forecast
Posted: February 10, 2004

 Forecast for Saturday, February 14

Issued: Tuesday, February 10
Launch Weather Officer: Johnny W. Weems, 45th Weather Squadron

Synoptic Discussion: "Onshore flow and a weakening frontal boundary across South Florida will produce variable cloudiness, near normal temperatures, and a slight chance of light rain through mid-week. A series of weather disturbances forming in the Gulf of Mexico and approaching the peninsula late in the week will increase cloudiness and chances of rain over the weekend. Numerical guidance has been a bit uncertain on timing; concerns on both Saturday and Sunday seem equal at this time but should become better delineated over the next couple of days."

Clouds: Scattered at 3,000 feet with 2-3/8ths sky coverage and tops at 5,000 feet; Scattered-to-Broken at 14,000 feet with 4-5/8ths sky coverage and tops at 18,000 feet; Broken at 26,000 feet with 5-6/8ths sky coverage and tops at 29,000 feet

Visibility: 7 miles

Temperature: 64 degrees F

Relative Humidity: 70 percent

Solar Weather Activity: Low

Probability of Violating Weather Constraints: 60 percent
