Launch weather forecast
Posted: August 17, 2003

 Forecast for Wednesday, August 20

Issued: Sunday, August 17
Launch Weather Officer: 45th Weather Squadron

Synoptic Discussion: "Little change from yesterdayıs outlook; a more typical summer pattern will gradually return today and become well established early in the week. Thunderstorms today will form mid-late afternoon inland with slow erratic movement due to weak winds aloft. Movement after formation Monday and beyond will be slowly back towards the east coast after formation in the afternoon along the seabreeze convergence boundary. These afternoon storms could impact early countdown activities but should dissipate through the evening. The most probable impact to activities during the window will be residual cloudiness and/or thunderstorm anvils."

Clouds: Scattered at 3,000 feet with 2-3/8ths sky coverage and tops at 5,000 feet; Scattered-to-Broken at 14,000 feet with 2-3/8ths sky coverage and tops at 18,000 feet; Broken at 26,000 feet with 3-4/8ths sky coverage and tops at 29,000 feet
