Bookmark and Share

Space shuttle Endeavour rolled out of its Orbiter Processing Facility hangar at about 7 a.m. EST Monday to begin a quarter-mile journey to the massive Vehicle Assembly Building, where the space plane will join an external fuel tank and solid rocket boosters.

Endeavour is being prepped for its 25th and final mission. Liftoff is scheduled for April 19.

Two members of Endeavour's crew, pilot Gregory Johnson and Italian flight engineer Roberto Vittori, greeted onlookers during the rollover.
