Discovery sails into space for last time
BY STEPHEN CLARK SPACEFLIGHT NOW Posted: February 24, 2011

Space shuttle Discovery blasts off at 4:53 p.m. EST (2153 GMT) from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Launching for the 39th and final time, Discovery is headed for the International Space Station with an Italian-built stowage module, supplies and spare parts.
These photos were taken at the press site about 3 miles from the launch pad.
