PHOTOS: Grasshopper reusable rocket demo


SpaceX's Grasshopper reusable rocket prototype is assembled on a launch pad in McGregor, Texas. The Grasshopper will launch on short hops, first to altitudes of a few hundred feet, then more than 2 miles high, to demonstrate vertical landing techniques for recovery of the Falcon 9 rocket's first stage.
