T-00:04.8 L40H Strap-on Ignition
The GSLV's four L40H hydrazine-fueled strap-on boosters ignite at T-minus 4.8 seconds to build up to 150,000 pounds of thrust.
T-00:00 S139 Ignition
The GSLV's solid-fueled S139 first stage motor ignites when the countdown clock reaches zero.
T+02:29 L40H Strap-on Shutdown
The GSLV's four strap-on boosters consume their propellant and shut down their Vikas engines at T+plus 2 minutes, 29 seconds. The booster shutdown comes shortly after the rocket's solid-fueled core stage burns out.
T+02:29.5 Second Stage Ignition
The second stage's Vikas engine ignites at an altitude of 71 kilometers, or 44 miles, ramping up to more than 161,000 pounds of thrust.
T+02:31 S139 First Stage and L40H Strap-on Separation
The GSLV's 66-foot-long first stage and attached L40H strap-on boosters separate from the rocket's second stage.
T+03:46 Payload Fairing Separation
The GSLV's clamshell-like payload fairing is jettisoned once the rocket flies above the dense lower layers of the atmosphere. The fairing shields the GSAT 14 spacecraft during launch.
T+04:49 Second Stage Shutdown
After consuming 39.5 metric tons, or 87,000 pounds, of storable liquid propellant, the second stage Vikas engines shuts down at after reaching a velocity of 11,000 mph.
T+04:52.5 Second Stage Separation
The GSLV's second stage separates from the cryogenic third stage at an altitude of 132 kilometers, or 82 miles.
T+04:53.5 Third Stage Ignition
The Indian-built cryogenic third stage engines ignites for a 12-minute burn.
T+16:55 Third Stage Shutdown
The third stage engine shuts down after reaching an orbit with a low point of about 180 kilometers, or 111 miles, a high point of 35,975 kilometers, or 22,353 miles, and an inclination of 19.3 degrees.
T+17:08 GSAT 14 Separation
The 4,369-pound GSAT 14 communications satellite deploys from the GSLV third stage.
