The Dawn asteroid probe launches at sunrise

The United Launch Alliance Delta 2-Heavy rocket blasted off at 7:34 a.m. this morning from Cape Canaveral. The ascent occurred just minutes after sunrise, sending NASA's Dawn spacecraft on a three-billion-mile journey to the uncharted worlds of Vesta and Ceres in the heart of the asteroid belt.
