Launch weather forecast
Posted: October 21, 2006

 Forecast for Wednesday, October 25

Issued: Saturday, October 21
Launch Weather Officer: Joel Tumbiolo, 45th Weather Squadron

Synoptic Discussion: "Over the next 48 hours two cold fronts will be moving through central Florida. The second front move through late Sunday or early Monday and will be the stronger of the two. This front will usher in much cooler and drier conditions into the area. Post frontal high pressure will then build in and result in overall benign conditions the remainder of the week.

"Only slight concern during the launch window will be cumulus clouds within 10 nautical miles of the flight path that may develop."

Clouds: Few cumulus at 5,000 feet and tops at 8,000 feet

Visibility: 10 miles

Launch Pad Winds: Northeasterly from 060 degrees at 10 gusting to 15 knots

Temperature: 64 to 66 degrees F

Relative Humidity: 60 percent

Weather: Partly cloudy

Concerns: Cumulus Cloud Rule
