Spaceflight Now: Atlas launch report

Launch complex 36
The Atlas launch pads at Cape Canaveral Air Station, Florida, are located at launch complex 36 (LC-36).

Both pads are equipped for Atlas 2 launches and pad B was recently modified to accommodate the new, more powerful Atlas 3 vehicle.

Each launch pad has a mobile service tower which provides access to the vehicle and weather protection during pre-flight preparations. The countdown is controlled from the blockhouse.
